How moving to Yes Chef works
What we do for you at set-up, what can be brought across from the system you use now, and what cannot.
On this page
You do not start from a blank screen. We do the set-up ourselves, with you: your sites, your people, your menu and your checks. There is no sign-up form and no free trial, so every restaurant starts with a conversation.
What happens, in order
- You write to us at omar@1273.co.uk with how many sites and people you have, which till you use, and what you use now for the rota and for checks.
- We tell you plainly what fits. If your till is not SumUp POS Pro, or you need an Android app, stock control, supplier ordering or a payroll integration, we say so before you spend any time.
- We set your restaurant up: each location and its areas, and whatever can be brought across from the system you use now.
- You check it against what you had, before anyone relies on it.
- You invite your team. Staff join by an email invitation from their manager.
- You run your first week with the checklist in Your first week on Yes Chef.
What can be brought across
- From Deputy: we run an importer that brings the location, its areas, people, published shifts, timesheets and leave. Availability does not come across. Move from Deputy
- From Trail: there is no importer. We rebuild your checklists with you. Past records stay in Trail: export them and keep them. Move from Trail
- From Nory: nothing is imported. We set you up afresh. Come from Nory
- Your till: sales come in live from SumUp POS Pro, the till we connect to today, with up to 400 days of its history. Past sales from Dines have been brought in from its export. Bring past till sales in
- From anything else: assume nothing moves by software, and ask us. We would sooner say no than promise an import we have not built.
What is true of every move
- We run the imports, not you. There is no import button in the app.
- A dry run comes first. Both importers can be run without writing anything, to show what would come across and what would be left behind.
- Your old records are yours to keep. Whatever does not come across stays in the old system. Export it before you end that subscription, above all food-safety, pay and working-time records.
- Nobody is told until you say. An import does not invite or notify your team.
- Check your notice period. Your agreement with your current supplier says when you can leave. We cannot tell you what it says.
What Yes Chef does not have
Said here so that nobody finds out in week two: no Android app; no stock control or supplier ordering; no payroll integration, only a CSV export of approved timesheets; one till connected live, SumUp POS Pro.
