Delete your account

Remove your own Yes Chef sign-in for good from the iPhone app, what your employer keeps, and why the last Admin is refused.

Who can do this: Everyone, for their own account. The only Admin of an organisation cannot.

Deleting your account removes your sign-in. It is done from the iPhone app; the web app has no button for it. If you only want to stop using one phone, sign out instead.

  1. Open Me and scroll to the bottom of This phone.
  2. Press Delete account.
  3. A box asks Delete your account? Press Delete account to go ahead, or Cancel.
  4. You are signed out and the app returns to its Sign in screen.

What is removed and what is kept

  • Removed: your sign-in, and notifications to your phone. Nobody can sign in as you again.
  • Kept: your name on the rotas, timesheets and checks you were part of, and your staff file. Your account is switched off, not erased. As the app says: “Your employer keeps the records the law requires.”

To ask what your employer holds about you, or to have it corrected, speak to them. They are responsible for those records.

Why the last Admin is refused

An organisation has to have at least one Admin, or nobody could manage its people, locations and permissions. If you are the only active Admin, the app refuses. Make someone else an Admin first, then delete your account. See Change someone’s level.

If it doesn’t work

“Couldn’t delete” with “You’re the only admin. Make someone else an admin first.”
You are the only active Admin. On the web, give another person the Admin level, then try again.
You do not have the iPhone app
Ask your manager to close your account. They do it from your staff file when you leave; see Offboard a leaver.
