How your account works
What belongs to you in Yes Chef, what your manager controls, and what is set per phone or browser.
On this page
You have one Yes Chef account. It is made when you accept your manager’s invitation, and the same email and password sign you in on the web and on the iPhone.
What is yours to change
- Your name, date of birth and mobile number. Edit your profile.
- Your PIN for the kitchen’s shared tablet. Set your shared tablet PIN.
- Whether a phone gets notifications. Turn notifications on on your phone.
- Whether the app is light or dark. Switch between light and dark.
What your manager or an Admin controls
- Your level and permissions. Only an Admin can change them, and nobody can change their own. How permissions work.
- The locations you work at, the areas you work in and your position.
- Your pay, your contract and the rest of your staff file.
- Your email address, because it is your sign-in.
On the phone, your level is shown on the card at the top of Me. Press the card to see your own staff file.
What is kept on each device
A few choices belong to the phone or browser you are using and do not follow you to another: the location you last picked, light or dark, whether the sidebar is shrunk, and whether that phone gets notifications.
Leaving
- Sign out ends your session on one device.
- When you leave the business your manager closes your account. Your name stays on the rotas, timesheets and checks you were part of, because your employer has to keep those records.
- You can remove your own sign-in from the iPhone app. Delete your account.
When something goes wrong
If you cannot sign in lists every sign-in message and what to do about it.
