Set your shared tablet PIN
Choose the four-to-six-digit PIN that says who you are on the kitchen’s shared tablet, change it, or have a forgotten one reset.
On this page
Your PIN is how a shared tablet knows a check was done by you. You choose it yourself, in your own profile. Nobody else can see it or choose it for you.
On the phone
- Open Me, then Edit profile.
- Under Shared tablet PIN, press Set PIN.
- Type a PIN of four to six digits under New PIN, then the same again under Again.
- It says PIN set, and the profile shows Set with the date.
On the web
Go to My profile
- Open My profile from the sidebar.
- Under Shared tablet PIN, press Set PIN.
- Type the PIN under New PIN and Again, and press Save PIN.
- It says PIN set.
Change it, or if you have forgotten it
Go to the same place and press Change PIN. You are not asked for the old one, so a forgotten PIN is replaced the same way.
Reset someone else’s PIN
If a PIN has been seen by someone else or is locked, a manager can take it away. On the web, open the person from the staff list; their panel shows Shared tablet PIN with PIN set, Locked or No PIN. Press Reset PIN. It says PIN reset, and the person sets a new one in their own profile.
If it doesn’t work
- “4–6 digits”
- The PIN is too short or too long.
- “Not one digit repeated”
- A PIN such as 1111 is refused. Choose another.
- “Not a run of digits”
- A PIN that counts straight up or down, such as 1234 or 4321, is refused.
- “Doesn’t match” or “PINs didn’t match”
- The second entry was different from the first. Type both again.
