Choose when a check is due
The schedules a check can have: by the clock, by a part of the day, over a week or a month, on one date, or only when started by hand.
A check’s schedule is set in its editor, under Schedule. Beside the choices the editor draws what the schedule comes to, so you can see when it will next fall due before you save.
Go to Checks, then Your checks
By the clock
- Per shift Once for each shift on a published rota, At start or At end.
- Clock times At set Times on the Days you pick, such as 09:00 and 15:00 every day.
- Interval Every so many hours between two times: set Every (hours), From and Until. An until time at or before the from time runs on into the next day.
- On demand Never due. Started by hand with Log: see Log something that was not scheduled.
A check at a clock time or on an interval is due at its time and stays open for half an hour. A per-shift check stays open until the shift ends. After that a check is overdue, and later missed: see What on time, late, overdue and missed mean.
By part of the day
These checks have a window instead of a time: they open, stay open, and shut. The window is set by parts of your day, Before open, Open, Close and After close, which follow the location’s opening hours. A check done any time while its window is open is on time.
- Daily Open from one part of the day to another, on the Days you pick. An opening checklist might be open from Before open to Before open.
- Weekly The same, on chosen days, every week or every few weeks.
- All week One record that Opens on one day and Shuts on another, such as a deep clean with Monday to Sunday to do it in. It is on each day’s list until it is done.
- Monthly One record open between two days of the month, every month or every few months.
- One date Once, on the Date you pick.
Warn if done early
Turn on Warn if done early to ask Not due yet before someone completes the check ahead of its time. They can still press Do it now; the record is then marked Early in History.
If it doesn’t work
- “Closed on these days”
- The days picked are all days the location is closed, so the check would never open. Pick other days, or change the opening hours: see Set a location’s opening hours.
- “Date has passed”
- A One date check is set to a day that has gone. Pick a later date.
- “It can’t end before it starts”
- The part of the day it closes in comes before the part it opens in.
- “Pick at least one day”, “Add at least one time.”
- The schedule has no days or no times yet.
