Do a check on a shared tablet
Pick your name on the kitchen’s shared tablet, type your PIN and complete a check under your own name.
A shared tablet shows the day’s checks for one location. Nobody is signed in on it, so you say who you are each time, with the PIN you set in your own profile. The steps are the same whether the tablet was set up in a browser or in the app.
- Tap the check in the list.
- Under Who?, tap your name. People on shift are listed first; you can also search.
- Type your PIN.
- Fill in what the check asks for, as you would on your own phone, and press Mark complete. It says Check done and goes back to the list.
Logging something that was not scheduled
Press Log at the top of the list, pick the kind of record, then say who you are in the same way.
What happens next
The check is recorded under your name, with a mark that it was done on a shared tablet. If you typed something wrong, open it on the tablet again, give your PIN and press Edit.
If it doesn’t work
- Your name says “No PIN” and cannot be tapped
- You have not set a PIN. Set one on your own phone or in the web app: see Set your shared tablet PIN.
- “Wrong PIN · 3 left”
- The PIN did not match. The figure is how many more tries you have before your PIN is locked.
- “Locked · 5 min”
- Five wrong PINs in a row lock your PIN for five minutes. After three locks in a row the PIN is removed and you set a new one in your profile.
- “Tablet locked · 5 min”
- Ten wrong PINs in a row on the tablet, whoever they were for, lock it for everyone for five minutes.
- Your name is not in the list
- The list is the active people who work at that location. Ask a manager to check where you are set to work.
- A missed check shows no “Fill in late” button
- Filling in a missed check is for people with the “Run the day’s checks” permission. See Fill in a missed check.
- “No connection”
- A shared tablet cannot check a PIN offline. Wait for the connection, or do the check on your own phone.
