Log something that was not scheduled

Start a record by hand, such as a delivery, an accident or a pest sighting, using a check that is set to On demand.

Who can do this: On the phone: anyone with a Checks tab at the restaurant. On the web: people who can see every check (Supervisors, Location Managers and Admins by default).

Most checks appear by themselves at their time. Some things only need recording when they happen. Those are checks whose schedule is On demand: they are never due, and you start one with Log.

On the phone

  1. Open Checks and press Log at the top.
  2. Pick the kind of record from the list.
  3. Fill it in and press Mark complete.

On the web

Go to Checks, then Today

  1. Press Log at the top right.
  2. Pick the kind of record from the menu. It opens in a panel at the side.
  3. Fill it in and press Mark complete.

What happens next

The record joins today’s list at the time you started it, and stays in History. It does not count in the score: nothing was scheduled, so nothing could be late or missed.

If it doesn’t work

There is no Log button
The location has no check set to On demand. Someone who can create checks adds one: see Create a check.
“That check can’t be started by hand”
The check was changed to a schedule, or removed from the plan, since the list was loaded. Go back and open Log again.
