Do a check on the web
Open today’s list of checks in the web app, record what a check asks for and mark it complete.
The web app has the same checks as the phone. This page is for doing one at a desk or on a laptop. On an iPhone, see Do a check on the phone.
On the web
Go to Checks, then Today
- Open Today under Checks in the sidebar. If the page asks you to pick a location, choose one in the sidebar: the list is for one location at a time.
- Find the check. The list runs under the parts of the day your checks are planned in, such as Pre-opening, Service and Post-service, with a line marking the time now. To shorten it, press Needs doing now above the list.
- Click the check. It opens in a panel at the side, with its status, when it is due or opens and shuts, and who is on shift while it is open.
- Fill in each part: tick the items, choose pass or fail, type the readings, add rows to a table, add a photo or sign. A reading outside the check’s limits, or a fail, is recorded as you entered it.
- Add anything worth saying under Notes (optional). After some fails the box is marked Note needed and the note is part of the check.
- Press Mark complete. It says Check done, and the row in the list changes to Done with the time and your name.
When something is wrong
Record what you found. If the check has been set up to need an action on a fail, the panel shows Action needed and Mark complete waits until you have said what needs doing. See Raise an action from a check.
What happens next
The completed check stays in today’s list under Done and in History. If you typed something wrong, open it again and press Edit: see Correct a completed check.
If it doesn’t work
- There is no Checks section in the sidebar
- You do not have the “See every check and its history” permission at this location. You can still do the checks for your shift on the phone. Ask a manager if you need the web pages.
- “Not due yet”
- The check is set to warn when it is done early. Press Do it now if you mean to, or Cancel and come back when it opens.
- “Couldn’t finish the check”, and a part is marked as needed
- Something the check requires is missing. The part is marked Photo needed, Signature needed or Note needed, and the foot of the panel counts what is left. Fill it in and press Mark complete again.
- The panel says “Missed”
- The check lapsed before anyone did it. See Fill in a missed check.
- “No checks are scheduled today.”
- Nothing is planned for this location today. Checks are set up under Your checks: see Create a check.
