Add a ready-made check
Pick a standard check from the ready-made list, add it to your location, then change it to fit your kitchen.
On this page
Yes Chef comes with a list of common food-safety checks, such as opening and closing checklists and temperature logs, already written. Adding one gives your location its own copy to use and edit. Ready-made checks are added on the web.
On the web
Go to Checks, then Ready-made checks
- Find the check. You can search, and filter by columns such as Set (Recommended or Optional) and Status (Added or Not added).
- Click a row to read it first: its Schedule and each of its Fields.
- Press + Add on the row, or Add to location in the panel. If the location has areas, pick the ones the check belongs to under Add to and press Add.
- It says Check added and the row shows Added.
Add the recommended set at once
While any recommended check is missing, the page has an Add recommended button with the number still to add. It adds them all and says Checks added.
From the planner
The same checks are in the planner’s Library under Ready-made, where you can drag one straight onto a part of the day. See Plan the day’s checks.
What happens next
The check is now one of yours. It appears under Your checks with the schedule it came with, and it starts being asked for on that schedule. Open it to change its name, fields, limits or times: see Create a check.
If it doesn’t work
- The button says “Already added”
- The location already has that check. Edit it under Your checks.
- “Couldn’t add the check”
- The message under it gives the reason. If it is about permission, you do not have “Create and edit checks” at this location.
