Plan the day’s checks
Lay out which checks happen before opening, during service and after close, and which belong to the week or the month, on the planner.
The planner is the Plan view of Your checks. It shows a day of checks in three parts, Pre-opening, Service and Post-service, with rows under them for Each shift, This week, This month, One date and On demand. The same parts head the list staff see on the day. The planner is on the web only.
On the web
Go to Checks, then Your checks
- Make sure Plan is picked at the top of the page. To look at one day, press it in the row of days; All week shows everything. If the location has areas, the area menu narrows the plan to one.
- Add a check. The Library lists your checks that are Not placed and the Ready-made ones. On a wide screen, drag one onto a part of the day. Or press Add beside it; the arrow next to Add lets you choose where. On a narrower screen, press Add checks to open the library.
- Move a check by dragging it to another part or row, or open its menu and use Move to, Move up and Move down. Duplicate to makes a copy somewhere else.
- Click a check to set when it happens: its Part, what time to Finish by, and how it Repeats (Every day, Chosen days, Weekly, Monthly, At a time or Every few hours). You can also switch Warn if early, and set its Area and Who.
- There is nothing to save. Each change is kept as you make it and the popover says Saved.
Starting from nothing
A location with no checks shows No checks yet and a Start with the usual day button, which places the recommended ready-made checks in one go. Read each one against your own food safety plan and change or remove what does not fit: see Add a ready-made check.
Taking a check off
Open the check’s menu and press Remove from plan. The check goes back to Not placed in the library, and its past records stay in History. If someone has already started it today, the planner asks Started today: the check stays on today’s list and Remove from tomorrow stops it from then.
What happens next
Today’s list on the web and the phone follows the plan: each check sits under its part of the day, in the order you gave it. A check placed in a part of the day that has already shut today is marked From tomorrow.
If it doesn’t work
- Checks cannot be dragged
- Dragging works on a window at least 1024 pixels wide. On a tablet or a narrow window, use Add and each check’s menu instead.
- “Couldn’t move the check”
- The change was not kept. The message under it gives the reason; try again.
- A red line under Repeats
- The schedule is not complete, for example no day picked. Nothing is saved until it is put right.
