Tell it several things at once
Say what has happened on the shift in one go (a no-show, two people clocked in, a task done) and confirm all of it on one card.
When you are running a shift you can tell the chat what has happened in one sentence. It sets each thing up as a row on one card, with one button for the lot.
- Say or type it as it happened: “James is a no-show, I’ve clocked Amelia and Finn in, and the bins task is done.”
- A card appears with a row for each record. The answer says how many are set up, and asks about anything that was not clear, for example which of two people called James you meant. What was clear is set up in the meantime.
- Check the rows. To drop one, press the key at the end of its row (Leave out). Press it again to Put back.
- Press Do all. The button changes to Tap again to do all with the number. Press it again.
- Each row is stamped as it is done, and the top of the card counts them: “5 done”, or “4 done · 1 not done”. A row that was refused says why.
What can share a card
- Marking people sick or a no-show, and clearing those marks.
- Clocking other people in or out.
- Completing checks.
- Changes to tasks, short of deleting one.
- New tasks.
Anything else is one to an answer: a shift, a message, a publish, a delete. Those are set up only when you ask for them, never because you say you have already done them.
Taking a row back
For one minute after a row is done, three kinds have an Undo on the row: a sick or no-show mark, a task marked done, and a clock-in. The row then reads Undone. After the minute, change it on its own screen.
If some rows were not done
When a run stops short, the button reads Do the rest with the number left. Press it, and again to confirm. Rows already done are not sent twice.
If it doesn’t work
- It asks “Did you mean …?”
- Nobody at this location has the name it heard. Dictation often mishears names. Answer with the right one; the rest of the card is already set up.
- A row says why it was not done
- The server refused that one record, and the row shows the reason its own screen would give. The other rows are unaffected. Put the cause right and ask for that one again.
- A kind of row is never set up
- You do not hold the permission for it here. See Ask it to do something for which permission each change needs.
