Tick a task done
Mark a task as done from a board, from your own list or from Today on the iPhone, and reopen one ticked by mistake.
Every task has a tick box. Ticking it marks the task done in your name. You do not have to finish its checklist first.
On the web
Go to Tasks, then My tasks
- Tick the box at the start of the task’s row. It says Task done and the task leaves the list.
On a board (Tasks, then Boards), tick the box on the card. With the task open, tick the box beside its title.
On the phone
- Open Today (Hub for supervisors and managers). While you have open tasks, a Tasks block shows the three due soonest.
- Press the tick box beside the task. It says Task done and the task folds away.
The same tick box is on every task under Me, then Tasks, on each card of a board, and beside the title when a task is open.
What happens next
- The task is struck through and moves to the foot of the board’s first done list. A new board’s done list is called Done. If the board has no done list, the task stays where it is.
- The task’s log gains a line saying you marked it done, and the open task shows who did it and when.
- The person who made the task and the other people on it are told it is done. You are not told about your own tick.
- Any reminder about the task waiting in your inbox is cleared.
Reopen a task
Untick it: the box on the card or in the open task on the web, the tick box on the phone. It says Task reopened. If the task was sitting in a done list, it goes back to the foot of the board’s first list that is not one. On the web, done tasks are not on My tasks, so reopen from the board.
If it doesn’t work
- You cannot find the task you ticked
- It is in the board’s done list. A done list shows its newest done tasks first; press More at its foot for older ones. If someone has cleared the done list, the task is among the board’s archived tasks: see Archive, restore or delete a task.
- “Couldn’t tick the task” on the web, or “Couldn’t tick” on the phone
- The tick did not reach Yes Chef, or the task is no longer yours to open. Check your connection and try again.
- There is no Tasks block on Today
- The block is shown only while at least one open task is assigned to you.
