Find your way around on the phone
Which tabs the iPhone app gives you, why yours differ from a colleague’s, and where everything else is under Me.
On this page
The iPhone app has a bar of up to five tabs along the bottom. Which five depends on what you may do and on what your location has switched on. Anything that does not fit on the bar is a row under Me.
The tabs
- Today, or Hub for people who see the manager dashboard. It is always first. See Today and Hub on the phone.
- Shifts: your own shifts.
- Rota: for people who build the rota.
- Checks: for people who see every check.
- Team: for people who look after staff, training or performance.
- Messages: where the location has Messages switched on.
- Inbox: your notifications.
- Me: always last.
How the five places are given out
- The home screen (Today or Hub) and Me always have a place.
- Messages has the third, where the location uses Messages.
- Rota, Checks and Team take what is left, in that order, for the ones you may use.
- Shifts takes a place that is still free.
- Inbox takes the last place, if there is one.
So an Employee usually has Today, Shifts, Messages, Inbox and Me. A manager usually has Hub, Rota, Checks, Messages and Me, with the rest under Me.
What is under Me
Me opens with your name, level and email. Press that card to open your own staff file. Under it is a card with your Organisation and Location, then these lists. A row is shown only if it is yours to use.
- Today: Inbox and My shifts when they are not on the bar, Tasks, Prep list and Waste.
- The house: any of Rota, Checks and Team that did not fit on the bar, Insights and Sales & GP.
- My rota: My availability, Time off, Open shifts and Swaps.
- My file: Edit profile, Training and Feedback.
- This phone: Appearance, Notifications, Sign out and Delete account.
The inbox when it is not on the bar
When there is no room for Inbox on the bar, a bell appears at the top of the home screen, Inbox is the first row under Me, and the Me tab carries the count of what you have not read.
The location at the top of a tab
If you work at more than one location, tabs that are about one location show its name at the top. Press it to change location. See Switch location.
If it doesn’t work
- A colleague has a tab you do not
- Tabs follow permissions. Rota needs “Build and edit the rota”, Checks needs “See every check and its history”, and Hub needs “See the manager dashboard”. An Admin can change what you hold.
- There is no Shifts tab
- Look for My shifts under Me. If it is not there either, the location has Rota & Team switched off.
- There is no Messages tab
- The location you are looking at has Messages switched off.
