Add a piece of equipment
Put a fridge, an oven or any other kit on the equipment list, set how often it is serviced, and change or archive it later.
On this page
The equipment list is the kit at one location and how its servicing stands. Equipment is added and changed on the web. The iPhone app shows the list and can log a service or a repair against it.
On the web
Go to Checks, then Equipment
- Pick the location at the top if it says to.
- Press Add equipment.
- Type its Name, for example “Walk-in fridge”. This is the only box you have to fill in.
- Choose its Type: Fridge, Freezer, Oven, Grill, Extraction, Dishwasher, Gas, Electrical or Other.
- Choose its Station, or leave it Unassigned. The list is grouped by station.
- If it is serviced on a schedule, type the number of days between services under Service interval (days), for example 365, and the date of the last one under Last serviced.
- Add Notes if you want, and press Save. It says Equipment added and the piece is in the list.
Change a piece of equipment
Press the pencil at the end of its row, or open the piece and press Edit. The form is headed Edit equipment. Change what you need and press Save. It says Equipment updated.
Archive a piece of equipment
Press the bin at the end of its row and confirm. It says Equipment archived and the piece leaves the list. To archive several, tick their rows and press Archive. Its service records and repairs are not deleted.
What happens next
Click a row to open the piece. Its page has when the next service is due, its service history, its repairs and its documents. From there you can log a service or record a repair.
If it doesn’t work
- “Name is required”
- Type a name before you press Save.
- There is no Equipment page in the sidebar
- You do not have the “Manage equipment and service records” permission at this location, or Checks is switched off there. Ask an Admin.
- On the phone: “No equipment”, with “Add it on the web.”
- Nothing has been added at this location yet. Equipment can only be added on the web.
- The station you want is not in the list
- Stations are set up per location. If the location has none, leave the piece Unassigned.
