Move someone to another site
Put a person on at a second site, change which site is their home, or take them off one, and what the app refuses.
Each person has one home site and can work at others as well. That one list decides whose staff list and rota they are on. It also decides where a Location Manager’s or Supervisor’s level applies: they run the sites they work at.
On the web
Go to Rota & team, then Staff
Click the person’s name. The sites they work at are the row of chips under their name and email. The one with the house is their home site.
Give them a second site
- Press the dashed Site chip with the plus.
- Pick the site. It says Added to and the site’s name, and a chip for it joins the row.
Move them for good
- Add the new site, as above.
- Press the new site’s chip and choose Make home. It says Home is and the site’s name. Their old home is now one of their other sites.
- Press the old site’s chip and choose Take off this site. It says Taken off and the site’s name.
A home site has no menu of its own: to take someone off their home site, make another site home first.
On the phone
- Open Team, tap the person on the Roster, and tap the pencil beside their name.
- Under Works at, tick each site they work at and untick any they have left. Their home site is tagged Home.
- Press Save changes. It says Changes saved.
The phone does not let you pick which site is home. If you untick the home site, the next site on their list becomes home. To choose, use the web.
What changes when you do
- Added to a site: they are on that site’s staff list and can be given shifts there. Give them an Area at the new site, or the rota will not offer them for its shifts: see Edit someone’s details.
- Taken off a site: the areas and position they had at that site go with it. Their areas and position at the sites they still work at are kept.
- Managers and supervisors: their level applies at every site they work at, so adding one to a site makes them a manager or supervisor there too.
If it doesn’t work
- There is no Site chip to press
- Only sites you run can be added, and there are none left to add for this person. For a manager or supervisor, a site is offered only to an Admin.
- “That didn’t save”, with “You can’t add people at” and a site’s name
- You edit staff at the person’s own site and not at the one you are adding. Ask someone who runs that site, or an Admin, to add them.
- “Only an admin can put a manager or supervisor on at” and a site’s name
- The person is a Location Manager or a Supervisor, and working at another site would make them one there too. That is a change of who runs a site, so an Admin has to make it.
- On the phone: “Couldn’t save”, with “Give them a site to work at first”
- You picked a level above Employee for someone with no site ticked. A manager or supervisor has to work somewhere. Tick a site under Works at.
- “Pick their home site”
- The person has no home site yet and was given other sites only. Give them one site first: the first site someone is given becomes their home.
