Match till logins to people
Say which person each login on the till belongs to, so the sales they ring are credited to them in Yes Chef.
The till knows who rang a sale by the login they used. Yes Chef knows your team by their names. Until a login is matched to a person, the sales it rang count for the restaurant but for nobody in particular.
On the web
Go to Settings, then Till (POS)
- Find the Till staff section. It counts Logins, Matched and Shared, and says how many are still to match.
- Press Match staff. A panel opens with every login on the till, what it has sold in the last four weeks and when it last rang a sale.
- Press Auto-match. Logins whose name is the same as someone on the team are matched for you and tagged By name.
- Work through the To match tab. For each login, either press one of the names suggested beside it, or open the Person box, use Search the team and pick who it is. It says Login matched.
- For a login several people use, such as one for the bar, press Shared login. It says Marked shared.
- When the To match tab says All matched., you are done.
What happens next
- Sales rung on a matched login are credited to that person: on Performance, and in their own performance in the phone app.
- Sales rung on a shared login, or with no login at all, are listed under Not credited on the Performance page. The panel also shows them as No login with a count.
- New logins added on the till appear here after the till is next read. Press Refresh to read it now.
Change or clear a match
Open the Person box on the login and pick someone else, or pick Unmatched to clear it. A match you cleared is tagged Cleared, and Auto-match leaves it alone from then on.
If it doesn’t work
- The button says See staff, and nothing can be changed
- You can see the till but may not edit staff here. Matching needs “Edit staff details and where they work” as well.
- The person is not in the list
- The list is the people at this location. Add them to the location first: see Team and people.
- “Couldn’t read the till” or “Couldn’t match the logins”
- The till did not answer. Check the band at the top of the Till page: if it says Sign in again, see Fix a till that has stopped syncing.
- “Till not read yet”
- The till’s logins have not been fetched. Press Refresh.
